मैंने एक राज छुपाया है तुमसे तुम्हारी ख़ामोशी मुझसे बात करती है.. तुम्हारी बातें, तुम्हारी हंसी और तुम्हारी बचकानी बदमाशियां जैसे मूंद मूंद सूरज और गिला गिला चाँद मेरी दुनिया के जब ये चाँद-सूरज ढल जाते है सन्नाटे के खाई में तब तुम्हारी ख़ामोशी मुझसे बात करती है.. जब रात ओढ़े आती है अंधियारे की चुनर और ज़माने के सितम डूब जाते है काले आकाश समंदर में दुनिया भर की बातें बंद हो जाती है आँखों के बोजिल बक्से में    तब तुम्हारी ख़ामोशी मुझसे बात करती है.. जब खानाबदोशी थक कर घर का पता मांगती है  परिंदे वीरान कर जाते है सन्नाटे के कुवें को तुम पास नहीं होती और कोई वजूद नहीं मिलता मेरे होने का तब तुम्हारी ख़ामोशी मुझसे बात करती है..        -- गणेश

Swades: Vibrant canvas of characters on journey of self discovery!

Much has been said and written about this classic over the years. Swades is probably last movie from the saddles of Bollywood which had (we call them) superstar actor(s) and mainstream director working together not to chase 100/200 crore club, but to create something beautiful, meaningful, long lasting and realistic piece of art! Its pity that none of today’s established actor/directors are looking keen to trace back and walk on the path of legacy Swades has created! Swades work on many levels, but I think what makes is so unique and repeat watch is its characters! As they say, every character written shall complete its circle at the end of story. And Swades does that beautifully! From protagonist Mohan Bhargava to flash and go water selling boy, everyone has their story to tell. जो वादा किया वो निभाना पड़ेगा --------------------------------------------------- सकाळची वेळ असते. ऑफिस, मीटिंग्स, मेल्स.. डोक्यामध्ये कामाचा ऑलरेडी पिंगा चालू झालेला असतो. सिग्नलवर 'काय हे ट्रॅफिक' चा कटकट राग अलापून एक दोनदा घड्याळामध्ये वेळही पाहून होते. आणि अचानक कुठल्यातरी ट्रकच्या रेडिओवर विविध भारतीची ती ओळखीची ओळ ऐकू येते.. 'आईए अब सुनते है फिल्म ताज महाल का इक गाना जो लिखा है साहिर लुधियानवी ने, धून बनाई है संगीतकार रोशन ने और इसे गाया है लता मंगेशकर और मोहम्मद रफी ने'.. माझे कान जागे होतात.. मोहम्मद रफी म्हणजे दैवत.. आणि त्यांची गाणी म्हणजे भक्ती.. बासरी आणि सारंगी ची मंत्रमुग्ध सुरावट संपते आणि रफी साहेबांचा आर्जव करणारा स्वर 'जो वादा किया वो निभाना पडेगा.. रोके जमाना चाहे रोके खुदाई तुम को आना पडेगा..' गाऊ लागतो.. एका मिनिटापूर्वी कैदे सारखे वाटणारे ट्रॅफिक आता पुढची 3-4 मिनिटे ढिम्म हलले नाही तरी चालेल असा विचार शिवून जातो.. सिग्नल सुटतो पण माझा मूड मात्र सेट होतो.. दिवसभर 'जो वादा' डोक्यामध्ये वाजत राहते.. संध्याकाळी मग म...
