Dunkirk

Dunkirk ------------------------------------------------ It's not a typical war movie to begin with. If you go for this movie keeping conventions used to make war movies till now in mind, it might surprise you. Dunkirk doesn't have many dialouges, no character comes with back story, there is no emphasis on making hero out of any of them, there is no stumoch wrenching violence and there is little drama or emotional backdrop to make your eyes moist. Still Dunkirk works. Refusal of being another conventional war movie makes it path breaking epic. Dunkirk is survival story of defeated soldiers trying to retreat to homeland. They are being bombarded from all sides by Nazis and Nolan put us between them, like we are one of them. Dunkirk grabs you by your neck from first scene and never lets you breath easily.
